This week the 2017 Festival Aix en Provence gets underway with an exciting programme of AH artists. On the 12 July Duncan Ward will make his festival debut with the Orchestre de Paris, conducting a programme of Stravinsky, Schubert and Beethoven. The concert will be recorded for broadcast by Mezzo TV.
Duncan has had a highly successful 16/17 season which has seen debuts with Vienna Radio, BR Munich, Scottish Chamber, Swedish Radio, Ensemble Intercontemporain de Paris, MDR Leipzig & Ensemble Modern as well as return visits to Orchestre Philharmonique du Luxembourg, Bamberger Symphoniker & RTE Dublin. Highlights for the 17/18 season include debuts with Dresden Philharmonic, Orchestre National de Belgique, Trondheim Symphony & Netherlands Opera for a double bill of Bernstein’s Trouble in Tahiti & Macmillan’s Clemency as well as return visits to BBC Philharmonic, Vienna Radio, Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen (for a Schubert residency), Residentie Orkest, Orchestra Sinfonica Siciliana & Glyndebourne on Tour to conduct Brett Dean’s Hamlet.
