Duncan Ward makes his debut with the New Japan Philharmonic

Duncan Ward will make his debut with the New Japan Philharmonic, with concerts at Sumida Triphony Hall, Tokyo on 20 and 21 May. Joined by celebrated Luxembourg pianist Francesco Tristano, the orchestra performs Bach’s Piano Concerto No.1 in D Minor, alongside Mozart’s Symphony No.38 in D Major and Robert Schumann’s ‘Rhenish’ Symphony, No.3 in E flat Major – Schumann’s last composed symphonic work inspired by a journey taken down the River Rhine.
In the remainder of this season Duncan Ward embarks on a Swiss and Austrian tour with Basel Sinfonietta, work with the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain and a special concert featuring Rolando Villazon and Sudwestdeutsche Philharmonie. Future plans include visits to Bayerischer Rundfunk, Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra, Aalborg Symphony, Stavanger Symphony, London Symphony Orchestra and Orchestre Philharmonique du Luxembourg. He also conducts many and varied projects with Sinfonia Viva.
