Numerous Askonas Holt artists have been named winners in the ECHO Klassik Awards 2014.
Yannick Nézet-Séguin is awarded Conductor of the Year for his Stravinsky / Stokowski disc, his first with the Philadelphia Orchestra. Giovanni Antonini’s recording of Norma, which also features Sumi Jo, is 19th Century Opera Recording of the Year. Emmanuel Pahud is named Instrumentalist of the Year for French Music for Winds with Les Vents Français.
Ian Bostridge’s disc of Britten songs wins Solo Recording of the Year – Voice, while The Metropolitan Opera’s production of Thomas Adès’ The Tempest featuring Simon Keenlyside, Isabel Leonard, Alan Oke, Toby Spence and Iestyn Davies is Music DVD Recording of the Year.
