Two years since his last visit, Emanuel Ax has great pleasure to be back in Hungary working with the Budapest Festival Orchestra and long-time colleague and friend Iván Fischer. Playing Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 17 in G major K453 (and later No. 22 in E flat major K482), they will have concerts in Budapest and then on tour to Belgium, France and Italy. He will also make a brief stop at the Klavier-Festival Ruhr for a recital in Bochum on 14 May, before re-joining the Budapest Festival Orchestra on tour in Europe, appearing in Bruge, Toulouse, Grenoble, Bologna, Brescia and Perugia. Emanuel returns to Europe in June for a series of concerts to celebrate his 70th Birthday, including a special concert with friends the Dover Quartet and Sir Simon Keenlyside at the Wigmore Hall on 25 June. Details of this concert can be found here.
