Enrique Mazzola returns to Lyric Opera of Chicago to conduct Bellini’s I Puritani , a tale of star-crossed lovers set during the English Civil War. Performances take place from 4 – 28 February.
Further on in the 2017/18 season, Albina returns to Deutsche Oper Berlin as Gilda (Rigoletto) and Bayerische Staatsoper as Semiramide (title role) before returning to Salzburg Festival with her highly acclaimed Königin der Nacht (die Zauberflöte). In addition, Albina joins Askonas Holt artists Christiane Karg and Yannick Nézet-Séguin in conjunction with Deutsche Grammophon for concert performances of die Zauberflöte at Festspielehaus Baden-Baden.
Forthcoming conducting highlights for Enrique include his debut with Orchestre National du Capitole de Toulouse and a return visit to Opernhaus Zurich (Maria Stuarda). Plans this season with Orchestre National d’Ile de France include a concert version of Rossini’s La Cenerentola, recording work and concerts in Paris at the La Seine Musicale and Philharmonie de Paris.
