Enrique Mazzola makes his debut with the Philharmonia Orchestra

Enrique Mazzola makes his debut with the Philharmonia Orchestra this Thursday at the Royal Festival Hall. Joined by pianist Till Fellner, the programme includes Mendelssohn’s The Hebrides Overture, Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 20 and Schumann Symphony No. 2. Enrique replaces Mo Christoph von Dohnányi who cancelled due to illness. See more information here.

Other debuts during the 2016/17 season for Enrique have included Lucia di Lammermoor with the Lyric Opera of Chicago, and return visits to Wiener Symphoniker (Musikverein, Vienna), Orchestre symphonique de Quebec, and São Paulo Symphony Orchestra. Over the summer he visits Opernhaus Zurich for Barbiere di Siviglia featuring Maxim Mironov in the role of Count Almaviva, before heading to the Bregenzer Festspiele for performances of Rossini’s Mosè in Egitto. With the Orchestre national d’Île de France, this season he conducted several symphonic programmes including performances of Rossini’s Stabat Mater and recording work. Forthcoming guest work includes return visits to Deutsche Oper Berlin (Le prophète), Lyric Opera of Chicago (I Puritani) and Opernhaus Zurich (Maria Stuarda).
