Enrique Mazzola has been given the title of Chevalier de l’ordre des Arts et des Lettres by Mme Nyssen, Ministre de la Culture in France. Enrique was “humbled and honoured” to receive the title, which reflects his significant contribution to French musical life. Congratulations, Enrique!
Following the release of their new recording on NoMadMusic last Friday, Enrique continues a series of concerts across France with the Orchestre National d’Île-de-France and Cédric Tiberghien (for Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 3) this week, at the Philharmonie de Paris and Théâtre de l’Agora in Evry. He will also conduct a special concert to mark the inauguration of a new studio space at the Orchestre National d’Île-de-France’s headquarters in Paris.
Next week he visits the UK to conduct the London Philharmonic Orchestra with a programme including Gershwin’s An American In Paris, and Songs from Canteloube’s Chants d’Auvergne with Anna Caterina Antonacci. Later this season Enrique makes his debut with Wiener Staatsoper (Don Pasquale) and returns to Metropolitan Opera (La fille du regiment), Opernhaus Zurich (Turco in Italia) and Bregenzer Festspiele (Rigoletto). He also returns to Deutsche Oper Berlin to conduct their new production of Les Contes d’Hoffmann and a special charity gala performance featuring renowned international singers.
