Enrique Mazzola returns to Deutsche Oper Berlin for Meyerbeer’s ‘Le prophète’

Enrique Mazzola returns to the Deutsche Oper Berlin for a new production of Meyerbeer’s Le prophète. Based on the life of John of Leiden, Anabaptist leader and self-proclaimed “King of Münster”, performances of the five-act opera features Gregory Kunde and Bruce Sledge (4, 7 January) as Jean de Leyde, with stage direction from renowned director Olivier Py.

Plans for the remainder of this season for Enrique include his debut with Orchestre National du Capitole de Toulouse and return visits to Opernhaus Zurich (Maria Stuarda) and Lyric Opera of Chicago (I Puritani). Orchestre national d’Île-de-France highlights this season include a concert version of Rossini’s La Cenerentola, recording work and concerts in Paris at the La Seine Musicale and Philharmonie de Paris.
