Etienne Dupuis & Anita Hartig make their Teatro Real Madrid debuts in ‘La bohème’

Etienne Dupuis and Anita Hartig make their house debuts next week at Teatro Real Madrid, as Marcello and Mimì respectively, in Richard Jones’s new production of La bohème, conducted by Paolo Carignani. They are joined by Stephen Costello as Rodolfo who returns to Madrid after performing Rodolfo with Dresden Opera and his house debut as Camille in The Merry Widow for Opéra de Paris. This is a co-production with the Royal Opera House in London and the Lyric Opera of Chicago.

Etienne will make further house debuts this season and beyond at Bayerische Staatsoper and the Metropolitan Opera. Future plans for Anita include Marguerite in Faust at the Wiener Staatsoper and Staatsoper Hamburg and Mimì in La bohème for the Opera di Roma and Wiener Staatsoper.

Highlights for Stephen this season include Duca in Rigoletto for Canadian Opera, Semperoper Dresden and the Deutsche Oper Berlin and the title role of Faust with the Moscow State Philharmonic Orchestra.
