Eugene Onegin at the Royal Opera House

Trio of Askonas Holt artists triumph in Tchaikovsky at Royal Opera House

Monday night saw the curtain rise on Covent Garden’s new production of Eugene Onegin.   And a trio of Askonas Holt artists made there own very particular mark on the evening.   Simon Keenlyside once again combined his magnificent voice with a mesmeric stage presence in the title role.  Peter Rose brought his beautiful bass to bear towards the end of the opera as Prince Gremin.  All of this was led by Robin Ticciati, conducting a performance of power and passion showing a maturity which belies his years.
Congratulations to all three!
