This week marks the beginning of the annual Glyndebourne tour which brings three operatic productions to various venues across the UK. This year’s offerings feature the much-loved opera favourites Il barbiere di Siviglia and Così fan tutte alongside a revival of the summer’s critically-acclaimed production Hamlet by Brett Dean which will be conducted by Duncan Ward.
Soprano Kirsten MacKinnonand baritone Ilya Kutyukhin will make their Glyndebourne debuts as Fiordiligi and Guglielmo in Nicholas Hytner’s classic production of Così fan tutte. This kicks off a thrilling season for Kirsten that will see her make her Oper Frankfurt debut as Ines in l’Africaine, her Philadelphia Opera debut as Michaela in Carmen and make a number of concert appearances with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra and the Radio Filharmonisch Orkest at Het Concertgebouw in Amsterdam.
