Glyndebourne Tour opens

Rosa Feola makes her Glyndebourne debut as Sandrina in La finta giardiniera which opens this Sunday, 5th October. The role of Il Podestà will be sung by tenor Timothy Robinson, who makes a return to the festival. Beginning at Glyndebourne with performances until 23rd October, the tour then transfers to the New Victoria Theatre, Woking for two shows on 28th and 31st October. From November subsequent performances include: Marlowe Theatre, Canterbury (4th, 6th), Theatre Royal, Norwich (11th,13th), Milton Keynes Theatre (18th, 20th), concluding at Theatre Royal, Plymouth (25th, 27th). Both artists have an exciting season ahead with highlights for Rosa Feola including: the role of Ilia in Idomeneo for Opera de Lille and a return to Chicago for concerts of Mozart’s Requiem conducted by Riccardo Muti. Timothy Robinson performs the role of Eisslinger in Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg for English National Opera and returns to Glyndebourne later in the season for Felice in Donizetti’s Poliuto.
David Afkham will conduct La traviata which opens this year’s Tour on 4th October with performances in Glyndebourne before moving to venues around the UK.
