Harry Bicket appointed Music Director at Santa Fe Opera

Harry Bicket has been appointed Music Director at Santa Fe Opera, where he has held the position of Chief Conductor since 2013. Taking up his new position on 1 October 2018, he will be joined by Alexander Neef and Robert K. Meya who will take up new positions on the 1 October as Artistic Director and General Director of Santa Fe Opera respectively.

Harry is also Artistic Director of The English Concert, one of the UK’s finest period orchestras, where upcoming highlights include European and US (Carnegie Hall) performances of Händel’s Rinaldo. Previous highlights with Santa Fe Opera include Alcina and Fidelio, and this summer they will perform Bernstein’s Candide. Past opera in the US includes Lyric Opera of Chicago (Carmen, Rinaldo) and the Metropolitan Opera (Le Nozze di Figaro, Rodelinda, La clemenza di Tito). Forthcoming guest conducting this season includes visits to Royal Northern Sinfonia, Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra and Cincinnati Symphony.
