Toi toi toi to Ildebrando D’Arcangelo who will sing the title role of Mozart’s Don Giovanni at the Dresden Semperoper starting on Wednesday 22 May. No stranger to the role, Ildebrando has sung the part of Don Giovanni on multiple occasions on the biggest opera stages in the world, including the Salzburg Festival, San Francisco Opera, and more recently, at Wiesbaden. Known for his rich and powerful voice as well as for his physical presence on stage, Ildebrando is one his generation’s leading Mozart interpreters.
This marks the end of a busy season for Ildebrando during which he sang the Count Almaviva (Le Nozze di Figaro) at the Deutsche Staatsoper Berlin, Méphistophélès (Faust) in Liege and Alvise (La Gioconda) at the Liceu. Future projects include his first Sarastro (The Magic Flute) at the Los Angeles Opera, Escamillo (Carmen) at the Deutsche Staatsoper Berlin and Méphistophélès (Faust) in Zurich.
