Inon Barnatan makes his Leipzig Gewandhausorchester debut

This week sees Inon Barnatan’s debut with the Leipzig Gewandhausorchester, where he will join the conductor Alan Gilbert to perform Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No.2.
Inon’s 16/17 season has already seen highly successful concerto appearances in North America, with Leipzig marking his first European appearance this season. Other upcoming highlights include performing all five Beethoven concerti with the Orchestre Philharmonique de Marseille, concerto appearances with Queensland Symphony, Tokyo Metropolitan, Chicago Symphony, New York Philharmonic and Seattle Symphony, and an 11-city North American tour with Academy of St Martin in the Fields. Inon will give solo recitals throughout Europe and North America, as well as appearing with his recital partner, Alisa Weilerstein.
Performances take place on 20, 21 and 22 October. Thursday and Friday’s concerts also include a performance of Bartók’s Bluebeard’s Castle with soloists Michelle DeYoung and Mikhail Petrenko. Find out more on the Leipzig Gewandhausorchester website
