Joseph Moog makes BBC National Orchestra of Wales debut, conducted by Thomas Søndergård

Thomas Søndergård returns to BBC National Orchestra of Wales this weekend, conducting a festive programme featuring much loved American classics. Focusing on Gershwin and Ellington, the concert features seasonal treats including Ellington’s reimagined suite from ‘The Nutcracker’.
Acclaimed pianist Joseph Moog makes his debut with the orchestra, in Gershwin’s Piano Concerto in F Major and Variations on ‘I got rhythm’. Riding high after being named Gramophone Young Artist of the Year off the back of his latest concerto CD ‘Grieg & Moszcowski Piano Concertos’,  this recording has also just been nominated for a GRAMMY and an International Classical Music Award. This season Joseph made his debut at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam (opening the Master Pianists Series) and the Moscow International House of Music, and next season holds several more important debuts including his first performances in Asia.
More information on this concert (taking place on 11 December at BBC Hoddinott Hall, Cardiff) can be found on the BBC website
