On 6 December, Belgian pianist Julien Libeer will be performing at Flagey in Brussels to celebrate the release of his new album, Lignes Parallèles. Joined by Les Métamorphoses Orchestra, under the baton of Raphaël Feye, Julien will be showcasing music from the album, including Lipatti’s Piano Concertino in the Classical Style, and Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 27 in B-flat major.
Lignes Parallèles is Julien’s first concerto album and his second release with Evil Penguin Classics. This album follows on from the highly successful second installment of Beethoven Violin Sonatas with Lorenzo Gatto (Alpha Classics), released earlier this year, for which Gramophone praised Julien’s “sensitive and intelligent” playing in its November 2018 edition.
Lignes Parallèles will be released in the UK on the 18 January 2019 and can be purchased here. For further information on next week’s concert, including how to purchase tickets, please visit this link.
