Langrée’s La Traviata receives Diapason d’Or

Louis Langree’s DVD recording with the London Symphony Orchestra praised for its ‘bloom and finesse’

Louis Langrée’s recent DVD recording of La Traviata (released on Virgin Classics) has been awarded a Diapason d’Or!

In a powerful production with remarkable singer Natalie Dessay, Louis Langrée conducted the London Symphony Orchestra and “delivered a sensitive musical performance” (BBC Music Magazine). Recorded at the Aix-en-Provence Festival last summer, this new release has been greatly received: “There is plenty to relish in the bloom and finesse of the London Symphony Orchestra as conducted by Louis Langrée” (The Times). Diapason Magazine wrote “to top it all, the DVD is blessed by Louis Langrée’s ardent conducting, who guides the London Symphony Orchestra to the highest sphere of elegance, which can sometimes be lacking under other conductors. So yes, a Diapason d’Or without a shadow of a doubt.”.
