Lars Vogt makes conducting debuts on tour with Royal Northern Sinfonia

This week Lars Vogt takes his orchestra, the Royal Northern Sinfonia, to Vienna and Budapest in what will be Lars’ conducting debut in both cities. In Vienna they will perform two concerts at the Wiener Konzerthaus with violinist and conductor Julian Rachlin. Lars and Julian will take turns to conduct and act as soloist. The orchestra then travel with Lars to Budapest for one concert at the Béla Bartók National Concert Hall.

Further ahead this season, Lars will also perform as a soloist with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra and Stéphane Denève (Brahms, 28 & 29 March), Rundfunk-Sinfonieorchester Berlin and Vladimir Jurowski (Berg Kammerkonzert, 7 April), and with the Orchestre de Paris and Daniel Harding in May, stepping in for Maria João Pires (Beethoven, 9 & 10 May).

Next month Lars makes his conducting debut in Frankfurt at the Alte Oper in what is sure to be the highlight of his season-long residency with the Frankfurt Museumorchester. In May he will take the Royal Northern Sinfonia on tour again, this time to Istanbul and then to Tokyo for an intensive three days of six concerts.
