Lars Vogt has had an incredible summer; he played in the opening concert of the BBC Proms live on TV, followed by performances at the Salzburg Festival, Mostly Mozart Festival in New York, Concertgebouw Amsterdam and finally at the Enescu Festival in Bucharest with the LSO.
Off the concert platform Lars’ latest solo recording of Bach’s Goldberg Variations with the Ondine label has seen unprecedented success, featuring in the Top 5 of iTunes’ download chart across Europe and reaching 1 million hits on Spotify after only a fortnight!
The highlights are set to continue as his 2015/16 starts with a last minute step in to open the Orchestre de Paris‘ season. Lars will replace Hélène Grimaud playing Brahms’ second Piano Concerto at the Philharmonie de Paris on the 9th and 10th of September, and at the Teatro alla Scala in Milan on September 11th.
To top it all Lars then dons his conducting hat and travels to Gateshead to make his debut as Music Director of Royal Northern Sinfonia, with a packed and exciting programme of events at Sage Gateshead. The opening concert is on September 18th, and we can’t wait to be there…!
