Louis Langrée conducts an Heroic Mahler 1

Last weekend, Louis Langrée conducted Mahler’s Symphony No 1 for the first time, receiving glowing reviews:
“The hero of Mahler’s Symphony No. 1 is the composer himself. Langrée laid it out masterfully, with scrupulous attention to detail and astonishing transparency.”  Music in Cincinnati.com
“Now in his second season as music director, Langrée was an animated leader who drew glowing, inspired playing from his musicians.” Cincinnati Enquirer
This was the culmination of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra’s latest One City, One Symphony project, which this time focused on the theme of heroes… Following an extensive project in the community, Louis led a Listening Party on Sunday, where the whole audience and orchestra joined in singing Frère Jacques.
