Ludovic Morlot

Opening gala concert as Music Director of Seattle Symphony!

Last weekend, Seattle Symphony‘s season opened with a gala concert conducted by their new Music Director Ludovic Morlot.  There was a palpable excitement in the hall, filled to capacity, where the orchestra performed an eclectic programme of Beethoven, Gulda, Gershwin and Ravel.
“…it was a pleasure to bask in the glow of the orchestra’s warmly tuned brasses. The woodwinds, too, evoked character without sacrificing precision.”

“…on the program was Beethoven’s “Consecration of the House” overture. Chosen aptly enough for the start of a music directorship, it received a splendidly lithe and well-shaped performance.”
The Seattle Times, 18 September 2011

“The whole symphony is being revitalized.”
