Malcolm Martineau receives OBE in 2016 New Year Honours List



Many congratulations to Malcolm Martineau who has received an OBE in the New Year Honours list, for services to music and young singers. Malcolm says “I am thrilled thrilled at this unexpected honour. A surprise prize!”.
One of the world’s leading accompanists, Malcolm works tirelessly to promote the art of song appearing regularly at London’s Wigmore Hall, the Vienna Konzerthaus and Amsterdam’s Concertgebouw with artists including Simon Keenlyside, Florian Boesch, Anne Schwanewilms, Bryn Terfel, Sarah Connolly, Christiane Karg and Dorothea Röschmann.
Alongside his performing schedule, Malcolm enjoys passing on his considerable knowledge to the next generation of singers, regularly presenting masterclasses for Samling, Crear, Ravinia and Salzburg whilst also commissioning recordings of the complete works of Mendelssohn, Poulenc and Debussy as well as his ‘Decades’ series (100 years of German Song), with the stars of today and tomorrow.
