Maxim Mironov makes role debut as Orpheus with the LA Opera

This Saturday, Maxim Mironov will make his role debut as Orpheus in a new production of Gluck’s Orpheus and Eurydice with the LA Opera. Directed by John Neumeier and first seen at Lyric Opera of Chicago, the acclaimed production has been described as “an achingly beautiful dream of a show … an inspired intertwining of ballet and opera” (Chicago Tribune). James Conlon will conduct from the pit, and Maxim will perform alongside Lisette Oropesa and Liv Redpath.

Maxim will then return to Liège to perform as Giacomo V in Rossini’s La Donna del Lago with the Opera Royal de Wallonie. Engagements this season and beyond include Falstaff at the Theater an der Wien, Don Pasquale and L’italiana in Algeri at the Wiener Staatsoper, Il Barbiere di Siviglia at the Rossini Opera Festival, and Don Pasquale at the New National Theater Tokyo. He will also appear in Anna Bolena at Teatro Regio Parma, La Fille du Regiment at the Teatro Communale Bologna, and Italiana in Algeri at the Liceu, Barcelona.

Orpheus and Eurydice opens on 10 March, with five further performances. Find out more on the LA Opera website.
