Michel Van der Aa’s latest work for music theatre, the chamber opera ‘Blank Out’, receives its first three performances this month, at the Muziekgebouw aan ‘t IJ, Amsterdam. Starring as the central protagonist – and only performer to be singing live on stage – is soprano Miah Persson, with baritone Roderick Williams and the Netherlands Chamber Choir appearing on film.
More information about the work can be found on the Netherlands Opera website.
‘Blank Out’ is co-produced by Netherlands Opera, Teatro dell-Opera di Roma and the Lucerne Festival. The work premieres in Amsterdam on Sunday 20 March, with further performances on 21 and 25 March. Miah will tour the production throughout the coming seasons, with further performances across Europe and further afield.
