Michael Tilson Thomas and the San Francisco Symphony embark on major European tour

Music Director Michael Tilson Thomas and the San Francisco Symphony kick off the 2015 -2016 season with a major European festival tour.  Hot on the heels of last year’s celebratory season, which saw MTT celebrate his 20th anniversary as Music Director, the SFS give thirteen concerts in nine cities from 27 August 27 to 14 September 2015.
The tour includes performances at the BBC Proms, the Edinburgh International Festival, the Lucerne Festival, the George Enescu Festival, the Berlin Festival, and the Rheingau Festival. The Orchestra will also visit Amsterdam’s Concertgebouw and Luxembourg’s Philharmonie and will have its debut at the new Paris Philharmonie. Two of MTT’s regular collaborators, pianists Yuja Wang and Jeremy Denk, as well as the St. Lawrence String Quartet, join the SFS throughout the tour.
