Mikhail Petrenko makes role debut with Teatro alla Scala at the Bolshoi

A regular at the Bolshoi, Mikhail Petrenko returns this time with Teatro alla Scala for their production of ‘Simon Boccanegra’, where he will make his role debut as Jacopo Fiesco under Myung-whun Chung in a Teatro alla Scala and Staatsoper Berlin co-production.

This marks the start of a very busy new season, with engagements over the next few months including ‘La Damnation de Faust’ with the Tokyo Symphony Orchestra (24 & 25 September), ‘Tristan and Isolde’ tour to Bogota with the Hamburgische Staatsoper (4 & 7 October), ‘Bluebeard’s Castle’ at the Gewandhaus zu Leipzig (20 & 21 October, with Michelle DeYoung), ‘Lohengrin’ with the Korea National Opera (16, 18 & 20 November), and a return to the Met for ‘Roméo et Juliette’ (with Virginie Verrez), ‘Salome’ and ‘Il Barbiere di Siviglia’ (various dates).

Performances of ‘Simon Boccanegra’ at the Bolshoi take place on 10, 13 & 16 September. For further information, click here
