Mkhitaryan, Romanovsky and Tsymbaluk in ‘Rigoletto’ First Night

Kristina Mkhitaryan, Sergey Romanovsky and Alexander Tsymbaluk will star in the first night of Verdi’s Rigoletto at the Bolshoi Theatre on Sunday (14th December). Robert Carsen’s production, which makes its premiere in the house at Sunday’s performance, will be conducted by Evelino Pidò. 
Kristina, who sings the role of Gilda was a recent winner of the Gian Battista Viotti competition in Vercelli in October and sings L’enfant et les sortilèges  and Prince Igor at the Bolshoi this season. Tenor, Sergey Romanovsky who sings the role of Duke of Mantua has an exciting season ahead; touring Ernesto (Don Pasquale) for Opera de Vichy and Opera de Massy and Opera d’Avignon as well as Don Ramiro (La Cenerentola) for Goteborg Opera. Alexander Tsymbaluk returns to the role of Sparafucile having already sung it this season for Royal Opera House, Covent Garden as well as Simon Boccanegra for Teatro alla Scala, Milan.
