World renowned pianist Murray Perahia celebrates the genius of Beethoven this season with the series Perahia Plays Beethoven. Throughout 16/17 he will play-direct all five of the composer’s much-loved concertos with the Academy of St Martin in the Fields at London’s Barbican Centre, with the first concert on Monday 21 November. Murray and the orchestra will perform the same programme at the Cambridge Music Festival on Friday 18 November, then continue on for further performances in Paris and Lucerne. For these series-opening concerts Murray will perform the first and third piano concertos.
