New Release – Alina Ibragimova & Cédric Tiberghien: Mozart violin sonatas

“A fourth volume in the complete series from this ‘ideal Mozartian Duo’.”Gramophone

“Alina Ibragimova and Cédric Tiberghien have become today’s partnership of choice for violin and piano repertory.” The Guardian

Released today on Hyperion Records is the fourth album of Mozart Sonatas by Alina Ibragimova and Cédric Tiberghien. Similar to the first three Mozart albums, this recording spans the music from most of Mozart’s life, from 1763 (when he was just seven years old) to 1782 as well as an unfinished manuscript of the Sonata C Major K. 404, a gift from Mozart to his newly-married wife Constanze.

Cédric Tiberghien and Alina Ibragimova first met as members of the BBC Radio 3 New Generation Artists scheme in 2005. The unique partnership which developed between the two artists was picked up by The Times who concluded its review of Cédric and Alina’s final recital as part of New Generation Artists, at the 2007 Cheltenham Festival, commenting that “both of these players have the potential to conquer the world”.

The duo is performing internationally and their recordings are of great interest, which The Times have simply described as “… a joint triumph”.
