New release: Joseph Moog plays Debussy & Ravel

For his seventh release on Onyx Classics, out today, Joseph Moog presents a French programme of Debussy’s 12 Études and Ravel’s Gaspard de la nuit.

“Joseph Moog’s very individual Debussy takes profit from an excellent keyboard control, it is clear and spontaneously rhetoric with a good degree of urgency. And when it comes to colours and nuances, he is definitely closer to chiaroscuro than to sfumato. Ravel’s Gaspard de la Nuit is also keenly characterised. Here, like in the Debussy, the pianist’s spontaneity is a pure joy.”

“Moog was dazzling in his control and precision, showing off greater levels of virtuosity with each etude.”
