We are delighted to announce the management in Europe and Asia of Canadian violinist Karen Gomyo.
Born in Tokyo and having grown up in Montréal and New York, Karen has recently made Berlin her home and is relishing the prospect of spending more time in Europe.
Recipient of the prestigious Avery Fisher Career Grant in 2008, the Chicago Tribune praised her as “…a first-rate artist of real musical command, vitality, brilliance and intensity…”.
Already strongly established in North America, Karen regularly performs with the highest level of orchestras such as the Cleveland Orchestra, Houston Symphony, National Symphony in Washington, New York Philharmonic, Philadelphia Orchestra and San Francisco Symphony among others. Seldy Cramer continues working for Karen in the Americas and Australasia.
In Europe, Karen has most recently performed with the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra (with Karina Canellakis), Bamberg Symphony, Danish National Symphony, Orchestre Symphonique de Radio France and WDR Rundfunk Sinfonieorchester in Cologne.
A strong advocate of contemporary works, Karen performed the North American premiere of Matthias Pintscher’s Concerto No. 2 Mar’eh with the composer conducting the National Symphony Orchestra, and has collaborated with Sofia Gubaidulina, Olli Mustonen, Peteris Vasks and Jörg Widmann.
