Nicole Car and Etienne Dupuis will join forces as they prepare to embark on an Australian recital tour, starting this Saturday 3 August, with a programme to include works by Duparc, Massenet, Faure, Verdi. The tour will also include a world premiere of a Kevin March piece commissioned specifically for them. The tour dates are as follows:
3 August: Sydney City Recital Hall
7 August: Melbourne Recital Centre
9 August: Canberra Theatre Centre
11 August: Queensland Performing Arts Centre, Brisbane
This recital tour follows Nicole’s role debut as Ellen Orford in Britten’s Peter Grimes with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, for which she has been critically acclaimed. It also marks the end of a very busy 2018-19 season for both Nicole and Etienne during which they both made their Metropolitan Opera debuts in La bohème, sang La traviata and Faust in Marseille, Eugene Onegin at the Deutsche Oper Berlin and more recently, Don Giovanni at the Opéra de Paris.
Next season’s joint engagements include Eugene Onegin at the Opéra de Montréal and Don Carlo with Opéra de Paris. It will also see return appearances for both at the Metropolitan Opera; Nicole as Fiordiligi in Mozart’s Cosi fan tutte and Etienne as Albert in Massenet’s Werther.
