Peter has devilishly good time…

Peter Rose sells his ‘role’ to the devil…

Over the seasons Peter Rose has proved to the world his extraordinary versatility.  And this season is no exception.  He has just added one more major role to his repertoire by singing his first Mephistopheles in Gounod’s Faust at the Hamburg State Opera alongside Ailyn Perez’s Marguerite and Alexander Tsymbalyuk’s Wagner.

This latest addition comes after a season that has seen Ochs at La Scala, Milan and at the Deutsche Oper, Berlin; Osmin in Geneva; Daland and Osmin in Munich and Hunding in Hamburg – and it is only February!  March sees him sing another new role – his first Don Alfonso in Cosi fan tutte – before he returns to Hamburg and Rome with two of his signature roles:  Gurnemanz and Bottom respectively.  It’s a hell of a season!
