Peter Rose stars in Wiener Staatsoper’s 1,000th performance of Der Rosenkavalier

A huge toi toi toi to Peter Rose who has the great honour of singing his definitive Baron Ochs von Lerchenau at the Wiener Staatsoper when the house presents its 1,000th performance of Der Rosenkavalier this Thursday 21 March.

Peter has sung the role to acclaim at the world’s greatest houses including the Royal Opera House Covent Garden, The Metropolitan Opera, New York, Berlin, Munich, Paris, Milan, Amsterdam, Tokyo, Sydney, Baden-Baden and Dresden – where he returns to reprise it once more later this year.

As a consummate singing actor he is noted not only for his inimitable characterisation of the role but also for his vocal beauty, musical accuracy and his perfect Viennese-inflected German. Congratulations to him for being part of this milestone!

Further performances on 24, 27 and 30 March 2019.
