Rafael Payare makes his Orchestre Symphonique de Montréal debut

Rafael Payare makes his highly anticipated debut with the Orchestre Symphonique de Montréal this Thursday at the Maison Symphonique de Montréal. This comes following his final season opening as Music Director of the Ulster Orchestra and his first appearance with the Tonhalle Orchestra. Conducting a programme including Schoenberg’s Verklaerte Nacht and Beethoven’s Symphony No.3, Rafael will also be joined on stage by the orchestra’s concertmaster, Andrew Wan, to perform Mozart’s Violin Concerto No.3. Rafael will then make return visits to the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic (24 & 25 October) and the Philharmonia Orchestra at the Royal Festival Hall in London (28 October), with Alexander Gavrylyuk as soloist. He will also begin rehearsals for a new production of La Traviata with Malmö Opera, and return to Warsaw to conduct Penderecki Symphony No.4 as part of the composers 85th birthday celebrations.
