This week, Roderick Cox makes his debut at the Grant Park Festival in Chicago conducting the Grant Park Orchestra in a programme of Beethoven’s Symphony No. 2, Haydn’s Sinfonia Concertante and Wagner’s Tannhäuser overture. Winner of the 2018 Sir Georg Solti Conducting Award from the US Solti Foundation, Roderick was the Minnesota Orchestra’s Associate Conductor from September 2016 to July 2018 following a year in which he served as the ensemble’s Assistant Conductor. Before arriving in Minnesota, he served for two years as Assistant Conductor of the Alabama Symphony Orchestra and Music Director of the Alabama Symphony Youth Orchestra.
