Role debut for Anna Caterina Antonacci

Next week, Anna Caterina Antonacci makes her role debut as the title in Hindemith’s Sancta Susanna, conducted by Carlo Rizzi. Teamed with Mascagni’s Cavalleria Rusticana as it often is, Elīna Garanča also makes a role debut – as Santuzza.
Hindemith’s one-act opera was written for three female soloists and premiered in Frankfurt in 1922. It received much criticism over its provocative and controversial story.
Performances run from 30 November to 23 December 2016, with a pre-opening performance on 28 November. For more information and tickets, see the Opera de Paris website.
