Sarah Connolly makes official debut with Dutch National Opera as Ariodante

Sarah Connolly makes her official debut with the Dutch National Opera this month in the title role of Handel’s Ariodante. Richard Jones directs and Andrea Marcon conducts Concerto Köln.

Sarah has once before appeared with the company, singing the title role in a single performance of Giulio Cesare, but from the pit! Stepping in for a single performance in February 2008, she replaced the scheduled artist who fell ill but now the Amsterdam audience have the opportunity to see Sarah in full flight, in what has become one of her signature roles. She has previously sung the role with great success in London, New York, Madrid, Vienna and Paris and, most recently, at the Festival d’Aix-en-Provence where she premiered the same Richard Jones production in 2014.

There are seven performances on 17, 20, 23, 25, 28, 31 January and 3 February 2016. Find out more on the Dutch National Opera website
