Sergey Khachatryan is the artist in portrait at the Palais des Beaux-Arts in Brussels for the 2018/19 season.
He began his residency last week with a trio recital of Armenian music with his sister and pianist Lusine Khachatyran, and Armenian cellist Narek Hakhnazaryan, both longtime collaborators.
This week he returns to Belgium to perform with Orchestre National de Belgique and conductor Hugo Wolff to perform Shostakovich’s seminal first violin concerto. As well as at BOZAR, the orchestra will give performances in Turnhout and at the Festival Zeeuwsch-Vlaanderen in Terneuzen.
In January, Sergey closes his residency with a duo recital with Lusine, performing the sonatas of Mozart, Prokofiev and Franck.
