The Simón Bolívar String Quartet make their Australian debut

Spring 2017 sees the Simón Bolívar String Quartet embark on an extensive Australian tour, performing for the very first time in Australasia.

The quartet will make their debut at the Canberra International Music Festival at the festival Opening Gala on 28 April, and will be involved in numerous and eclectic activities throughout the festival; including education workshops, collaborations with international and Aboriginal artists, culminating in the festival finale on 7 May.

They will then travel to Sydney to work with the Sydney Youth Orchestra, with a performance on 13 May at Riverside Theatres Paramatta.

Rounding off their month down under, the quartet will perform at the Melbourne Recital Centre on 15 May, and will also join up with The Pizzicato Effect, the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra’s flagship community music programme which is closely aligned with the principles of the Venezuelan El Sistema.
