Simon O’Neill sings Siegmund with Deutsche Staatsoper Berlin

Leading heldentenor Simon O’Neill will sing the role of Siegmund in two performances of ‘Die Walküre’, as part of the Deutsche Staatsoper Berlin’s Ring Cycle, conducted by Daniel Barenboim. Siegmund is something of a signature role for Simon, with previous performances at the Royal Opera House, the Metropolitan Opera, La Scala, Wiener Staatsoper and Deutsche Oper Berlin.
Future performances of the role include in concert with the Berliner Philharmoniker (December 2016) and the Bayerische Rundfunk under Sir Simon Rattle, and at the Bayerische Staatsoper, Munich.
Simon will return to the Deutsche Staatsoper next season to sing Boris in Janáček’s ‘Katya Kabanova’, conducted by Rattle (14 – 25 June 2017).
Performances of ‘Die Walküre’ take place on 12 and 26 June 2016. For more information, visit the Staatsoper Berlin’s website
