Siobhan Stagg opens her season with a company and role debut

This week Siobhan Stagg opens her 2018/19 season making her company and role debut as Mélisande in Debussy’s Pelléas and Mélisande at the Victorian Opera, Melbourne, a role she will reprise next year at Opera de Dijon. Celebrated tenor, Angus Wood, plays Pelléas and the Victorian Opera’s Director, Richard Mills, will conduct the performances.

An exciting season ahead, Siobhan will also make her American debut with the Lyric Opera of Chicago in the title role of Cendrillon conducted by Sir Andrew Davis, her debut for the Festival d’Aix-en-Provence in staged performances of Mozart’s Requiem, and Pamina (The Magic Flute), Gilda (Rigoletto) and Micaëla (Carmen) for the Deutsche Oper, Berlin. In addition to this, she has been appointed ‘Artist in Association’ with the West Australian Symphony Orchestra (WASO) for their 2019 season, appearing in three separate concerts with the orchestra’s Principal Conductor, Asher Fisch, which will include Ravel’s Shéhérazade paired with Poulenc’s Stabat Mater, Orchestral Lieder by Strauss, and Verdi’s Requiem.
