Sir Simon Rattle jumps in to conduct at the Verbier Festival

Sir Simon Rattle has stepped in to conduct Beethoven’s Symphony No. 5 at the Verbier Festival this Thursday 2 August, following the withdrawal of Ivan Fischer due to health reasons. This will be Sir Simon’s Verbier Festival debut.

He is joined by conductors Gábor Takács-Nágy, who will conduct Dvořák’s Cello Concerto in B minor Op. 104 with soloist Mischa Maisky, and Francois López-Ferrer, who will conduct Bernstein’s Overture to Candide
