Sophie Bevan makes double debut in Dresden

Sophie Bevan makes her role debut as Melisande in a performance of Debussy’s Pelléas et Mélisande at the Dresden Semperoper. This also marks her house debut in Dresden.

Conducted by Mikko Franck, this new production was created by Àlex Ollé of La Fura dels Baus and has been described as “sensational, moving and [a] visually stunning creation far beyond any traditions” (Dresden Semperoper). Find out more about the production here.

Later this season, Sophie will return to the Teatro Real Madrid to make her role debut as Freia (also joined by Alexander Tsymbalyuk and Dame Sarah Connolly) and will perform concerts with the Bergen Philharmonic, Philharmonia and Britten Sinfonia orchestras.

Pelléas et Mélisande will be performed on 9, 13 November and 1 December 2018.
