Following the success of his debut last year, Stanislav Kochanovsky returns to the Verbier Festival this weekend to conduct a concert performance of Verdi’s Rigoletto. The Festival Academy Junior Orchestra is joined on stage by singers from the Verbier Festival Academy, including Andrés Agudelo, Alexandra Nowakowski, Joel Williams, Leonardo Lee, Sava Vémic and Svetlana Kepicheva.
This concert marks Stanislav’s second performance at this year’s festival; last week, he conducted Mikhaïl Pletnev’s Fantasia Helvetica for two pianos and orchestra, performed by the composer himself, Lucas Debargue and Verbier’s Festival Orchestra. Next week, he conducts the Oslo Philharmonic in an open-air concert with works by Bernstein, Strauss, Rimsky-Korsakov and Adams, featuring soprano Lise Davidsen.
This Sunday’s performance of Rigoletto will take place at Salle des Combins at 2.30pm. Tickets are available here. The performance will be broadcast live on medici.tv – find out more here.
