The Metropolitan Opera’s 2015/16 Season continues with tomorrow’s opening of Sir David McVicar’s gripping period production of Anna Bolena, conducted by Marco Armiliato.
Stephen Costello makes his return to the house to reprise the role of Lord Percy, Anne Boleyn’s doomed love interest; Stephen previously sang this role for The Met’s premiere production of the opera during the 2011/12 season.
Stephen shares the stage with Sondra Radvanovsky in the title role, Ildar Abdrazakov as Henry VIII and Jamie Barton as Jane Seymour.
Anna Bolena opens Saturday 26 September, with further performances 1, 5 October 2015 and 5, 9 January 2016.
Next month Stephen continues his season at The Met, with his company role debut as the Duke of Mantua in Verdi’s Rigoletto, with performances 20 October – 10 November.
