The Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra welcomes Sunwook Kim as their Artist-in-Residence for this season. Sunwook is already a familiar face to the BSO audiences; he has established a great rapport with the orchestra and their principal conductor Karill Karabits through several performances over the past few seasons, including Sunwook’s BBC Proms debut in 2013. Their collaboration this year however will take them in new directions.
Sunwook’s first performances are on 26 and 27 November, where he will team up with the orchestra’s concert master and principal cellist for performances of Beethoven’s Triple Concerto. He will give a solo recital at The Lighthouse, Poole featuring Mussorgsky’s showcase ‘Pictures at an Exhibition’ and appears at the GLive venue in Guildford to perform Beethoven’s Piano Concerto no. 3
Sunwook closes his residency with that most demanding of concertos; Rachmaninov’s 3rd. Click here
