Askonas Holt is delighted to welcome American tenor Ben Bliss to its roster for general management.
Praised for his “poised sweetness” (New York Times) and “stylish confidence” (Opera Wire), Ben’s many accolades include The Metropolitan Opera’s 2016 Martin E. Segal Award. He made his Los Angeles Philharmonic debut in 2014 and has since performed with the New York Philharmonic, Atlanta Symphony Orchestra. Glyndebourne Festival Opera, Sante Fe Opera and Oper Frankfurt; working with Gustavo Dudamel, Yannick Nézet-Séguin and Alan Gilbert amongst others.
Ben’s recent highlights include Don Ottavio in Don Giovanni for both Lyric Opera of Chicago and the Gran Teatre del Liceu Barcelona, and Ferrando in Così fan tutte for The Metropolitan Opera. Later this season Ben returns to the stage as Flamand in Christof Loy’s new production of Richard Strauss’ Capriccio at Opernhaus Zürich.
