Thomas Søndergård jumps in this week to make his debut with the London Symphony Orchestra and replace an indisposed Valery Gergiev. The Dane will conduct the complete Russian programme including Tchaikovsky’s Romeo and Juliet and Piano Concerto No. 1 with Barry Douglas, and Prokofiev’s Symphony No. 6 at London’s Barbican Centre.
This prestigious debut makes it a ‘hat trick’ so far this season with highly-successful first visits to both the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra and London Philharmonic Orchestra earlier this Autumn.
Thomas conducts the London Symphony Orchestra on Tuesday 29 & Wednesday 30 November 2016. More information here.
Good luck Thomas!
